Non-Refundable Registration Fee

The $300.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee is in addition to tuition. No student is considered registered or enrolled in Faith Christian School until, among other requirements, a three-hundred-dollar ($300.00) annual, non-refundable registration fee has been paid on behalf of the student. If the registration fee has been submitted but the student is not accepted, the registration fee will be returned to the person submitting the fee. If the student is accepted for enrollment by an official letter of acceptance, and for any reason the student does not enter the school, or withdraws or is dismissed after entering school, the registration fee is not refundable in whole or in part. The $300.00 Non-Refundable Registration Fee is in addition to tuition. Note: The annual non-refundable registration fee is in addition to the monthly tuition, and only covers holding a place in the class as classes fill and the application process is going on.

Additional "Non-Tuition" Fees

Tuition Late Fee: Any tuition payment made after the first day of the month in which it is due will be charged a late fee of $25.00. Any tuition payment made after the 15th day of the month in which it is due will be charged an additional late fee of $25.00 for a total late fee of $50.00 for the month. The Student will be "Administratively Withdrawn" if any payment is delinquent for 30 days or more. Readmission will not be considered until all bills are paid, including fees and penalties. Readmission is not automatic and is subject to review by the Headmaster and School Board.

Returned Check Fee: A $25.00 fee will be charged for each check (or automatic withdrawal) returned for insufficient funds or returned for any other reason. Two returned checks (or refused automatic withdrawals) will require Payor to pay by money order or cash for all remaining tuition/fee payments in that academic year.

Book Fee: $250.00 (NEW: Includes additional items for every student this year.)

Each student must pay a $250.00 Book Fee each year to purchase the entire annual curriculum. NEW: This fee includes a new, large-print KJV Bible. NEW: The fee also includes an age-appropriate subscription to God's World News (from World Magazine). Please Note: The textbook fee is less than the individual retail price for all the books in each packet. Because of this discount the school was required to sign a contract with the publisher that we will not resell these packets to homeschool families, or other non-students.

Families with multiple students enrolled in the school may wish to save money by reusing textbooks from year to year as their children progress through the school. This is permitted provided that: (1) the textbook is the current edition being used on the DVD curriculum; (2) the textbook is in good condition; (3) answers to questions in the textbook are not written in the textbook. Workbooks with "tear-out" pages must be purchased new every year. If you plan to reuse textbooks, check with the Principle before July 31st to make sure that the books comply, and so that other required books can be ordered individually to arrive before the opening day of school.

Headphone Fee: $20.00 Every entering student receives a new set of headphones with which to listen to the DVD Master Teacher lessons. At the end of the year, the student may keep his or her headphones and use them next year if they are in good working condition. If a student breaks or loses the headphones, the student may keep the broken headphones, but must pay an additional $20.00 for a new set of headphones to finish out the year.

Refundable Breakage Fee: $50.00 In addition to the $20.00 headphone fee, each student must pay a $50.00 "Breakage Fee" (Contingency Fee). This contingency fee is refundable at the end of the year, minus the cost of any property damage done by the student. If a student does more than $50.00 worth of damage, the person(s) responsible for paying the student's financial obligations to the school will be required to pay the additional amount before the student can continue in school. If the contingency fee is either partially or fully used during any semester, it must be replaced on or before the next tuition payment date, or, if used after May 1st, within 10 calendar days. The student will not be permitted to continue in school if the contingency fee is not replaced as required.

Testing Fees: Parents must pay the required testing fees in addition to the non-refundable registration fee and other fees. The testing fees cover the costs of leasing the tests from the publisher, and the costs of administering the tests by qualified and registered administrators. Taking the test does not guarantee admission.

Benchmark Placement Test for New Entering Students - $50.00

Students must be age appropriate for their grade, and will be tested and/or interviewed to determine final placement. We use the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills® to benchmark where the student is academically in the admission process, and again in the spring each year to determine academic progress. This fee is paid during the summer before a new student takes the initial test, before the child is admitted to class.

Spring Progress Test for All Students Every Year - $80.00

The spring progress tests are normally given in May and have two components: (1) test preparation materials which help the child become accustomed to the testing format and the type of questions asked on the "real" test ($30.00); and, (2) the actual test given in the spring ($50.00).

Other Costs and Expenses to Take into Consideration

School Uniforms: Students are required to purchase and wear school uniforms every day to class except as outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook for certain specific activities. The purchase of school uniforms is in addition to the cost of tuition and the non-refundable registration fee. Students must be wearing their school uniforms beginning on the first day of class.

Meals: No meals are provided for students by Faith Christian School. Neither tuition nor other fees cover the cost of meals. Parents or other legally responsible persons are required to provide all meals for students at their own expense.

Transportation: Parents or those with legal custody and control of the Student are responsible for providing adequate and timely transportation for their Student both to and from school every day that school is in session, and for all school activities in which the Student is involved unless otherwise announced. Parents or authorized persons who fail to pick up their Student at announced "pick up" times will be assessed a "Late Pick Up Fee" of $10.00 for every 15 minutes (or portion thereof) that they are late in picking up their Student after the end of "pick up time." Faith Christian School currently does not provide transportation.

After School Care: The school is currently investigating the possibility of making After School Care available for families where the parents or guardian must work later than school "pick up time." If this is a concern of yours, please check with the school office in August.

Field Trips and Other Miscellaneous Fees: Fees for field trips, museums, events, gymnasium use, athletic fees, sports clothing, and other miscellaneous costs may occur throughout the year. These costs are in addition to the cost of tuition and the non-refundable registration fee.

Insurance: Student insurance is not included in tuition, registration fees or other fees. Each family is solely responsible for purchasing, at their own expense, the insurance policies that they feel are adequate and appropriate for the Student.
